Q + A

December in Maine!?!? What will the weather be like?

Relax, winter in Maine is not as bad as it sounds. Although temperatures average a high of 35 degrees F and a low of 18 degrees F, the key to staying warm is LAYERING. There is magic to Maine's beaches in the winter to find rare colored sea glass and the illusive sand dollar, so bundle up for an oceanside stroll along the deserted sands. The sun still rises early, which means it sets wicked early, too. Be prepared to wave goodbye to the sun as early as 4:03 p.m., so pack your favorite coat, hat, gloves, and perhaps a trusty pair of boots in case the outside looks like a snow globe.

Friday Wedding?!? You Mean I get a 3-day weekend?!

Yes! If you plan on making this a little mini vacation trip, visit the "Things to Do" tab on the website to see some recommended activities, restaurants, sights to see, and classic Maine stops for some help brainstorming your stay!

What airports should I fly into?

The two airports that you cannot go wrong flying into are Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (16 minutes from Homewood Suites), Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (53 minutes from Homewood Suites), and the Portland International Jetport (56 minutes from Homewood Suites).

I won't have a car, how will I get around?

To my city people: Uber and/or Lyft can be VERY tricky to get when we are in small towns. PLEASE plan ahead of time by scheduling lifts to and from airports or activities outside the wedding so you're not stuck without a ride. On the wedding day, we will provide a shuttle to and from the venue to the blocked hotel, Homewood Suites in Dover. For those driving, please remember there is a chance of snow. Be mindful of what kind of car you have, as 4-wheel/all-wheel drive is always a surefire choice to prevent you from getting stuck!

What is the dress code?

Please dress comfortably—think cozy elegance and closed-toe shoes or boots suitable for the time of year. However, the ceremony and reception will be inside, and guests can enjoy the crisp Maine air on the veranda (with heaters). This is not a black-tie event!

Can I take my own photos during the ceremony?

We have a professional coming, so why not sit back, relax, and enjoy the cozy fireplace that will be the altar's backdrop? After the ceremony, feel free to take any pictures you wish and upload them to the Google Drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YOHFb1ht74THQBsWUVfOyyHbQw_cQnku?usp=share_link

I have dietary requirements, how do I let you know?

The RSVP form has an opportunity to tell us your needs! Just be sure to answer the questions with as many specifics as possible. If you have allergies, let us know; we are more than happy to accommodate your needs!

What kind of bar will you have?

Bottoms up! Even though the bride and groom don't drink, that doesn't mean you can't! We are set up to have a fantastic bar with two signature cocktails crafted by bar/restaurant GM and Maid of Honor, Lauren!

Kids & Plus Ones???

Please take a look at your invitation. The names of guests who have been invited will be clearly stated on them; if you have questions, reach out to Morgan or Chris to ask!
